BIG SEIZURE OF OPIUM

Received Thursday, 11 a.m. VANCOUVER, April 30. Opihm worth 25,000 dollars in the underworld markets was -seized from the Australian freighter Suva, which docked at Vancouver yesterday, and two Chinese, members of the crew, were arrested in the biggest smuggling attempt here since pre-war days. The police found opium on a member of the crew and searched all night before finding 60 ounces hidden aboard. The opium is believed t(* have been smuggled aboard the Suva in Sydney Harbour from an other ship alongside which she berthed.
