GISDC5RNE, May 1. On seventeen charges of false pretences,- Arthur Blair O'Donahuef 25, transport driver, was sentenced by Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., to a total of 238 days' imprisonment, representing cumulative terms of 14 days on each charge. The charges mainly concerned the cashing of valueless cheques at several North Island towns in the last two months. Other methods employed by O'Donahue included representations that bank notes of various denominations were in envelones he gave to neople, and that his luggage had been stolen and he required monev to trace it.
