BOXING TOURNAMENTS

LEVIN CLUB TO STAGE THREE FIXTURES THIS YEAR Tentative dates for three boxing tournaments to ' be held this season by the Levin Amateur Physical Training and Boxing Club were released at a meeting of the committee last night. They are: June 2, July 28 and September 29. It .was agreed that these contests would be held. in the Regent Ballroom, as it was deemed by all to be the most suitable. Before these dates are finalised it will be neeessary to contact other .club.Si ; ;tpr .,ensur e > itbn.t .they, will not conflict with their arrangements. This was left to the secretary,- Mr. W. C; Childs to arrange, As in past years it is expected that outside clubs will be matching some good boxers to Levin, and some very excellent bouts are assured. The following names of local boxers were submitted by the trainers for inclusion in the list to be forwarded to the Feilding Amateur Boxing Club, and if suitably matched will be competing in the 'tournament to be held at Feilding on Saturday, May 10: C. Taylor, 8st 111b (2 fights to his credit) ; R. Hills, 9st 21b (3) ; B. Dunstall, 6st. 41b (novice) ; B. Marshall, 11st 51b (novice) ; Kay, 6st 51b (novice) ; N. Wilton, lOst 41b (3) ; I. Wilton, 6st (novice) ; R. Thompson, 6st 61b (novice) ; J. Eccles, 11st 91b (4) ; and P. Maranui, lOst ,101b (novice).
