' Mr. Jim Neylon, who has been In hospital at Palmerston North as the result of a football accident, has returned home but will be on crutches for some time. . Mrs. J. F., Nicolson and her little daughter, who have been on holiday in Gisborne and Otaki, left for Wellington on Thursday afternoon en route for their home at Waimate. Among the visitors to Otaki at the weekend were Messrs. Hec. Merrylees, H. Frederickson, Taylor and H. Ferguson, the well-known stock-buyer, of "Kaitoke," Dannevirke. Miss "Pip" Phillips, at one time a nurse at the Otaki Sanatorium, but who resigned on account of hidifferent health to take up residence at Wanganui, was among the weekend visitors to Otaki. Child Struck By Truck A two-year-old child, Dawn Thompson, received injuries to the back of her head and neck, concussion and shock when knocked over by a truck at Waikanae on Wednesday .afternoon. Anzac Collection A record collection was taken at the Manakau Anzac service on Friday, the sum of £5 18s 4d being contributed. The sale of poppies in Otaki and district promises to be a record, but all the takings have not yet been handed iri.
