Proposed by the Wellington braneh, a remit .that "women be given the right to enter all trades and professioiis to receive equal pay for the job and the same opportunities as men for training and promotion to responsib'le positions; also that the Government be urged to set up a commission to investigate the question of equal pay for equivalent work for men and women along the lines of the royal commission set up by the British Government", was carried unanimously. An amended resolution from Auckland that the annual radio licenee fee 'be redueed to £1 was carried. Another motion that the fee be payable quarterly was lost. A South Canterbury remit that the appropriate authority be approached with a view to the elimination from radio programmes of murder serials wliich must undoubtedl}' have an undesirable influence on young listeners, was carried, as also oue from Welliug ton that the Minister or Director of Broadcasting be asked to include a national fo,rum of debate on topics toucliing the general interests of the community. A remit carried last year that the Government be asked to consider the setting up of a course on houscliold management for training young girls as home aids, was reaffirmed.
