"All the other postal services are equally as bad, and considerable inconvenience is being experienced by all members of the community, especially the business people. My object in writing to you, thereXore, is to ask you to please review the whole of the mail facilities for Otaki, with a view to giving the inhabitants of the borough a better service. In making the request I fully appreciate the difficulties with which you are confronted, in maintaining an efficient service, but there are oyer 2000 people in this borough, with a large rural population adjacent thereto, all served by the Otaki Post Office a'fid the Otaki Railway Post Office, and they are surely entitled to something considerably better than at present given." The Chief Postpaster, in reply, has stated that the matter was receiving attention. Councillors were in accord" with the Mayor's letter, and he was thanked for his efforts, which, it was hoped, would bear fruit. Councillors also expressed disapproval with the present services.
