The Truman administration's view is that United States, Britain and the Arai) states shouhl not be members o. the commission which will be appointe-. to study the Palestine problem, sav, the New York Times correspondent, ilr. James Reston, when referring to the special session of the Geuerai Assembly on April 2S. Britain concurs but the Arai) states disagree in advam-i to accept Fnited Xations decisions on Palestine and about the only thing tha can be sauQwith assurance now is tha the British will not agree to be tln sole instrument for enforcing an decision. The Truman administration I now appears to feel it will have to help limplement any Palestine policy that ul j timately gets the approval of an overj whelming majority within ITnite" ! Xations. Fnited States has been in t.hc position of being able to recommen 1 'policies which the British were expeci , ed to carrv ont and has not had to argue its recommondations before an international tribunal but now thnt th Palestine ease is before Fnite Xations, America's policy is beeomin; more eautious.
