Personal Mr. Arthur F. Thompson, who has been staying, with . Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Knowles, Vance Street, for a few days, has returned to his home at Wallaceville. Mr. Sid Shaw has been visiting Shannon and enjoying a cliar with his many old friends. He is now happily settled with his son and da-ughter-in-law in Auckland. Old Identity Passes It came as ashock tomany local people to hear of the passing at the Palmerston North Hospital G'n April- 7 of Mrs. Mable Hannah Hinkesman of Heatherlea, Levin, widow of the late Thomas Guy Hinkesman who predeceased his wife only some six months ago. The late Mrs. Hinkesman was 63 years of age and Was very wellknown -locally, having been prior to her marriage engaged in business at Shannon for many years. She leaves to mourn their loss, a daughter (Rae), and son (Dick) besides two brothers, Tom Dunck--ley, -of Auckland, and , Charles Du'nckley, of Dunedin, both of whom were one time well-known Shannon residents.
