LEVIN METHODIST CHURCH
QUARTERLY MEETING HELD The quarterly meeting of the Levih Methodist Church was held recently,, whem the- Rev.-- .If--: S. Kings presided and conducted thS devotional period. Several apologies were received for unavdidable absence. The balance sheet showed a gratifying credit balance. A special meeting convened recently reported that satisfactory arrangefftfehts had- beeii hlade foratlie purchase of a car for the more effiOient and convenient working of the church generally. It was reported that there was an acute shortage of teachers for Sunday School work, and that Bible Ciass work was on the advance. Mr. ' Miller was appointed leader of the juniors, the peace thanksgiving fund is to be Dominion wide. Mr. F. H. Hudson was appointed to the position of local secretary. Fufids for church extensions in new housing areas and needy causes for assistance were also to be Dominion wide. Rev. E. O. Blamires, Wellington provincial orga'niser, is to Visit Levin shortly regarding the projected parking area to be made available for the safety of cars. Thanks were extended to the choir for its assistance at the church services and also for the reeent rendering of the cantata "Rollihg Seasons." Appreciation was also expressed at the fine spirit prevailing at the services, especially during the Easter period, Letters of condoience were sent to Mesdames Gibson and Dixon and Mr. Boyer, all of whom have recently suffered bereavements.
