MARKET REPORT

Messrs. Townsend and Paul, fruit and produce merchants, Wellington, report that since last reporting larger quantities of peaches have come to hand, values for all but choice lines being - easier. Small supplies of plums have also been available, but apricots, greengages and nectarines are still short of supply. A keen enquiry is for all citrus. Quinces have suld readily, as also have cape gooseberries, grapes, mushrooms and passionfruit. Choice tomatoes have realised ceiling. Flower auctions have again been well attended, seasonal blooms being placed to advantage. Most varieties of vegetables have also been sought, particularly bea'ns, peas and cauliflowers. Over the Easter period, larger supplies of poultry were offered, values for prime birds, however, being maintained.
