IHAKARA' S MONTHLY MEETING There was a fair attendance of j members at the monthly meeting j of the Ihakara Women's Institute I recently, Mrs. Buri presiding. Letters of thanks were read from the link in England for parCels received, special mention j being made of the fats which were! included. "Members were asked to ! ibring paper patterns and a cake of i soap to the next meeting for ihclu- I sion in the parcels for the link. j Mesdames Trotter and Armstrong ! were nominated as delegates to i the council meeting at Manakau.' Mrs. Spencer, of Levin, gave a very i jnteresting demonstration of weav-l ing in raffia and wool, which was ; keenly followed by aU present. ! Competitions for the afternoon ! resulted a.s follows; — Pikelets : Mrs. | 'Butt 1, Mrs. MeLe.an 2, Mrs. R. J. Rolston (3. Flower: Mrs. Elliott 1, ; Mrs. Doyle 2, Mrs. Brooks 3. ! Shrub: Mrs. M. Taylor 1, Mrs. R. J. 1 Rolston 2, Mrs. Mark 3. Vegetable: Mrs. Rolston 1, Mrs. Armstrong 2, Mrs. Hudson 3. Mesdames Doyle and Horn were in charge of the bring-and-buy stall and the meeting concluded with the singing of the National Anthem..
