SMALL STOCK ENTRIES
PIGS AND DAIRY CATTLE IN KEEN DEMAND On account of the Easter holjdays there were small 'yardings again in all sections of stock ex:cept .pigs at the weekly sale in Levin yesterday, Pigs were in good supply and s.old well. Dairy cattle which Were in short supply met with keen competition. The following is a range of the prices realised: — Cattle: Heifers on drop, £10 10s, £12 10s to £14 5s; cows on drop, £12, £13 5s, £14 to £16; fat ScA. cows, £11 5s to £12 15s; light vealers, £2 15s to £3 10s; medium, £3 5s to £4 :5s; prime, £4 10s, £5 15s to £6 7,s 6d; fat.ex-dairy cows, £4 10s, £5 15s, £6 10s to £8; runners, £6, £6 7s O.d to £7 5s. No store or station cattle were entered/ Sheep: Fat ewes, 22s to 24s lOd; fat wethers, 26s 6d to 30s lOd; prime fat wethers, 3.3s lOd, 34s 4d, 35s 7d to 35s lOd; fat b.f. lambs, 28s 6d, 3.3s lOd to 3.5s 4d; store fatteningewes, 18s to 20s. Pigs: Light pork, £2 11s, £3 to £3 5s; medium, £3 10s to £4; heav"ier do., £4 4s, £4 15s to £5 ls; choppers, £4 10s, £5 to £5 12s; weaners, 7s 6d to 12s 6d; light stores, 15s fo 20s; medium, 22s 6d to 30s; heavier do., 35s to £2 2s 6d.
