Approxiiiiateljhalf of the 17,000 residents of Mount Clemens in Michigan, are marooned in their homes. The flood waters are swirling through sections of several other Michigan towns. At Flint water covered the factory floor of the big General Motors plant to a depth of tnree feet. The plant was forced to close throwing idle ^12,000 workers. A state of emergency "was proclaimed at Flint and Lansing. The tlood, which is the worst in Michigan history, is expected to reach its crest today.
