FLOODS AND STORMS BATTER MIDDLE WEST
Reeeived Monday, 9 p.m. NEW YORK, April 6. It is estimated that 15,000 are homeless or stranded in their homes today as spring lioods covered large areas of the Midale West. Storms, iioods and tornadoes which battered the Middie West since Saturday cosc at least eieven iives. Approxiiiiateljhalf of the 17,000 residents of Mount Clemens in Michigan, are marooned in their homes. The flood waters are swirling through sections of several other Michigan towns. At Flint water covered the factory floor of the big General Motors plant to a depth of tnree feet. The plant was forced to close throwing idle ^12,000 workers. A state of emergency "was proclaimed at Flint and Lansing. The tlood, which is the worst in Michigan history, is expected to reach its crest today.
