WELLINGTON, April 1. A rnmour, that the waterside workers intend to declare "black" the work oi discliarging coal shipments from the United States as a gesture of sympathy with the sti'iking Waikato mhiers wa> shar.ply denied todav by the natioual secretary of the New Zealand Waterside Workers' Union (Mr. T. ed ludicrous. The rumour was witlioul the slightest foundation. Mr. apier said that sucli a suggcs tion had not been discussed by the union, and the miners had ^not cequestod any action-.of the kind. Ihe issue simply did not iirise.
