' Before the running of the Williams Handicap, Nyallo .Seott was held in tne birdcage while a veterinary opinion as to whether the horse was fit to race was obtained. Nyallo Scott was alleged to have an enlarged fore knee but it was decided that tlie stipendiary steAvards sliould not exercise their rights to orcier the scratching of the horse.
