Rev. H. W. NeWell, geneTal secretary of the Natioftal CoUnCil of .Churches' of 'Nie.w- Zealand, has arrived ' at" Geneva to become assistant general secretary to the World Couficil of Churehes. Mr. K, Shaw, of Levin, left Palmerston North today by air for Auckland on the first stage of a six months visit overseas. He depafts from Auckland tomorrow morning hy plane for the United States, and will spend a month there and ih Canada. Mr. Shaw will then visit England and Scotland. Dr. Walter Gilmour, director of the laboratory at Auckland HoSpital, has tendered his resignation after more than 26 years as pathologist and bacteriolOgist at the hpspital. Neither the chairman of the board, Mr. Moody, nor Dr. Gilmour was prepared to comment on the resignation. Mr. S. G. Holland, Leader of the Opposition, left Wellington by the Limited express Oh Ffiday hight eh route to Auckland. He Will rfetum fco Wellington on Easter Sunday to meet his brother, Mr. H. E. Holland, of Adelaide, who will arrive jthe following- day • by- the ' Wahine from Sydney.
