RED CROSS GARDEN PARTY

The garden party held by the - Levin branch of the Red Cross Society in Mrs. D. S. Mackenzie's grounds this week Was well attended, and as a result of the proceeds the committee will be able to forward additional food parcels to Britain. The committee wishes to thank Mr. and Mrs. Mackenzie for the use of their grounds on this occasion, the Levin Borough Council for assistance and those supporters who gave donations. Afternoon tea was in the capable hands of Mesdames Duncan, MacDonald, Mackenzie, Hills and Young. The stall-hdlders were Mesdames Hair, Webb and Wilson. The gate-keepers were Mesdames Hudson and Webb. A clock golf competition was won by Mesdames MacDonald and Clark. An interesting art gallery, the work of Mrs. Blake, proved popular. . * Numerous letters are coming forward from recipients of-food parcels, acknowledging their usefulness and showing convincingly the need for an ever increasing number of •these parcels to be despatched. \
