MINISTER PROMISES HELP TO PRODUCERS

DUNEDIN, -March. 27. The Minister of Agriculture, Mr. E. L. Cullen, asked in Dunedin if he cotild facilitate the delivery Of wool g'ack's -before riext season, said today that inci'eased production by the Foxton mill was being arranged. Mr. F. R. Pieot had been sent to India in an endeavour to obtain supplies of jute products for the Dominion. Tliere was the possibility of hawng to use paper 'bags imported from America for superpliosphate, lime and cement, explained Mr. Cullen. These would be satisfactory if the waterside workers did not use hooks in handliiig them. The paper bags would probably ovorcome a great deal of the diffieulties eaused by the shoi'tage of sacks this year. "There is a possibility that the r'atio'ning of superpliosphate to farmers in , New Zealand will end vety soori/' added Mr. Cullen. ''The diffieulties eaused to farm'fers by the shortage of railway wagons, Was mentioned, the Minister explaining tlvat rolling stock had not been greatly increased during the war while the amount of work it was required to do had increased greatly. Farmers eotild rest assured he would do his best to help them.
