THREE PERSONS INJURED
€ar^ Gfllife On Ohau Bridge When attempting to negotiate the Ohau traffic bridge at 6.20 p.hi. last night, a light *oar collided "with a lafger vehicle approaCh'ing *fr6m the opposite direction. A_man ahd !his rnfe and sofi reCeivCd injurfes necessitating medical treatmefit. They were: Bert Dean, Junr., freezing work6r, of Palmerston North, facial lacera-^ tions aird shoek.' Bert Deafi, Senr., c'uts ahove eye and shock. Mrs. Selina May. Dean, cuts' to knee, abrasions afi'd shock, All were admitted to the AmaTa Hosp'ital, Levin, fol'lbwing tr'eatmefft a't. "the Scefib :ol the %'cbident. The car was travelling in a northerly direction and was befhg .-d-riven 'by Mr. Dean, Junr. Itis mother, who was .sitting in the front seat', anticipated the accident ,and quickly put both her hands against the windscreen so that thby would take the shock, and in %o doTh'g p'ushed the windscreen opeh. But for her prompt action the gla^ss would have been shattered, and the injuries pf " th6 n'cduganiS been considerable more sefious. The car was extensively damag&d, but the heavier oat was oMy slightly so. None of the three occupants of this vehicle were injure'd. The 'a'cci'derit is said to have been cau^ed as a result of the brakes of both vehicles being rendered ineffective by the greasy surface fof the bridge decki'ng following rain.
