BERGMAN TO PLAY JOAN OF ARC

Ingrid Bergman, who is doing a Broadway season in "Joan of Lorraine," will shortly return to Hollywood to play a Joan of Arc film for Walter Wanger. Playwright Maxwell Anderson (who penned "Joan of Lorraine") will probably write the screen play, Commenting on playwright Anderson Ingrid Bergman said: Mr. Anderson 's concept of Joan is the same as mine, warm, gentle and simple. Shaw's Saint Joan is a wonderful play, but his heroine is much too brave. Mr. Anderson has followed history more closely. Wagner's film of "Joan of Arc" will be made in technicolour.
