ATHLETIC SEASON ENDS

LEVIN CLUB'S FINAL SPORTS MEETING The Levin Combined Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club concluded its season at the Levin Domain on . Monday night, when the final weekly sports meeting was held. There was a good attendance . of che public. • At the conclusion of the meeting the club's president, Mr. W. Cribb, presented the trophies to the winners of the third points series. Mr. Cribb spoke very highly of the standard of competition shown in oocn achlecics and cycling throughout the season, which, in his opinion, had been probably the best competitively and financially in the 'history of the club. He sincerely hoped that the club would be able to offer better and more meetings next year. He made fitting reference to the St. John Ambulance Division, the Levin Municipal Band and the Horowhenua Pipe Band for their unfailing assistance during the season, offieers of the club, and Mr. E. J. Stanley, manager of the Weraroa Training Centre, and his offieers, and club members for their great. work during the season. The craining centre athletes had performed very. creditably at ail meetings, and several of these boys had proved themselves to be up to open jtandard in competition. The results of the third points series were: — Senior athletes: J. Mathews (25 points) 1, C. Robert soii (20) 2. Junior athletes: W: Gotterriieyer (21) 1, R. Whelan (18) 2. Senior ladies: M. Cameron (29) 1, M. Lang and N. McMinn (19 points each) , 2 equal. Junior ladies: S. Rose (21) 1, M. Morgan and 'N. McMinn (10 points each) 2 equal. Junior boys: R. Cameron (24) 1, W. Mason (18) 2.
