MARKET REPORT

— Messrs. Townscnd and Paul, Ltd., fruit and produce mer chants,. Wellington, report that no apricots have been available during the past week. The demand, however, is keen and high prices would be obtaincd for quality lines. Choi(?e nectarines have also been sougnt, while both peaches and plums have realised ceiling. Greengages are also wanted. Larger supplies of quinces have come forward, values being slightly easier. Cape gooseberries and outside grapes have sold readily, while both passionfruit and tomatoes have been in heavier supply. Smaller supplies of cut bloqms -have been oifered, values for popular varieties being firmer. Most varieties of vegetables have also been sought, particularly beans and peas. Pumpkins of good quality are also in better enquiry, while carrots, rock and water melons, parsnips and swedes have all been sought. Fairly large yardings of poultry continue to come forward, prime birds again being placed to advantage.
