WEDDING OF LOCAL INTEREST
NICHOLL — SWINDLEHURST The Cambridge' Presbyterian Church was the scene of a very pretty wedding recently, when Joy, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs; W. Swmdlehurst, Roto-o-rangi, Cambridge, and late of Shannon, - was married to Kenneth Nicholl; youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Nicholl; Fencourt, Cambridge. A gown of ivory satin was worn by the bride, who was given away by her father. The rounded neckline was offset with a handfaggoted yoke and the bodice featured small self-covered buttons down the centre of the back. Her very full skirt was gathered to.the bodice, and fell in soft folds to form a long train at the back. From a halo of shirred tulle and flowers, a veil of uncut tulle formed a secondi train, and she carried a lovely bouquet of lilies, roses, and carnations. In attendance as bridesmaids were Misses Shirley Swi'ndlehurst, sister of the bride, and Ellie Lucas. Their -gowns of pink and blue cloque respectively, were fashioned similarly, with shirred bodices, tapering to a point at the waist, on to which the skirts were fully gathered. Sprays of carnations and roses were worn in their hair, and their bouquets were of asters, carnations and roses in pink and blue shadings. The bestman was Mr. D. McGovern, with' Mr. Bill Swindlehurst as groomsman. Welcoming the guests at the reception was Mrs. W. Swindlehurst, the bride's mother, and her choice for the occasion was a model blue frock relieved with a shoulder spray of pink carnations and black pr»r»pcer)ViPQ\ For travelling on her honeymoon the bride wore a pink frock under a grey coat, with navy accessories.
