HOMING PIGEON THAT WON'T GO HOME
A homing pigeon with a Wellington registration number has apparently taken a likirig to Levin, for no amount of persuasion will tempt it to retutii to its home ierritory. With headquarters firmly established on the roof of a local private hotel, it appears to be settling in for the winter and, apart from occasibnal retebnriaissarice raids Oh thfe rooms in ihe hotel, it refrairis from roaming abroad. During one bf its recent escapades it had its tail firrfily secured ih a closing ivindow and was eaptured by the proprietbr, who artangfed for it to be taken to Wellinsrtbrt, Where it was rfelfeasbd on Saturday. By 4 p.m. pri Sunday it was back on its adopted „ perch iii Lfevin — three hburs before thfe rfeturn of thfe vehicle which conveyed it to Wellington.
