The daily occupied bed figure for the main liospital at ^91.61, shows a rise over the previous months, stated the re port of the Medical Superintendent of the Palmerston North Hospital, Mr. J. H. North, to the hospital board yesterday. The position re maternity bookings. for the Palmerston North Home is stil'l difficult and somewhat uncertain, but there is provision in the main hospital for suffieient beds, according to the present indications. The statistics for the hospitals under the board 's control for the month of Eebruarv were as follow: — Patients remaining in hospital at end-of January^ 284; admitted' during February, 354; discharged during February, 321; died during Eobruarv, 13; remaining at end of February, 299; daily average number of occupied beds 291.61.
