COMMISSION HEARS LEVIN CLUB'S CASE

WELLINGTON, March 18. The main business before the Gaming Commission today was an application by the Levin Racing Club for restoration of the one day's racing which it lost in 1910. Evidence showed that the club originated in 1884 and raeed with a two-day permit until 1910, when a commission set up to reduce racing days took both days away. In 1915 another commission oranted the chffLa one-day permit, and in 1940 it purchased an extra day from the Napier Park Racing Club at a cost of £1520.
