KIMBERLEY HOLDS ITS ANNUAL MEETING
The Kimberley Women's Institute held its annual meeting recently, preceded by a shorr monthly meeting. PrQceedings opened with the ode and- aspirations. The president, Mrs. Dome, occupied the chair and welcomed members and visitors^ the latter including Mrs. Spencer, a member of the federation executive. Apologies for unavoidable absence were received from Mesdames Death, Callender and Smith. Following the serving of afternoon tea by the hostesses, Mesdames Peterson and Gawler, the annual report and balance sheet for the year was. presented and adopted. Mrs. Spencer congratulated the institute on its aceomplishments during the year, and expressed the hope that tlie activities of the coming twelve months would bring happiness to members, and that they would work together in co-operation. There was no election, the officers for the ensuing year being as follows: — ^President: Mrs. Dome; secretary: Mrs. Campbell; treasurer: Mrs. Coulson ; committee: Mesdames Crowe, Evans, Field, Fanning, Hagan, Neas, McLean and H. Saint. Votes of. thanks were extended to Mr. E.. W. Pickering for auditing the books; the Press • for publicity and all who had helped during the year. The pompetitions for the year were won by Mesdames Field, Crowe, Grifiith and Evans. The monthly competitions were won as follows: — Best flower: Mrs. Kissane 1, Mrs. Dome 2, Mrs. Field 3. Best spray: Mrs. Evans 1, Mrs. Crowe 2, Mrs. Dome 3. The competitions for the April meeting will be a jar of plum jam. Dainty posies were presented to Mesdames Spencer, Kissane, Dome and Denton, and the singing of the National Anthem concluded the meeting.
