CENTRAL BEAT LEVIN The colts match between the Levin Central and Levin Bowling Clubs was played on Saturday ana resulted in Central winning both games. The results were as follows, Central players being mentioned first: Collis, G. Henderson, L. Smith, Richards (s) 22, beat Neas, Telford, Witherow, Scott (s) 21; Fen, Nichol, Briggs, Dalzell (s) 26, beat Hastedt, Parsons, Robertson, Young (s) 13. Ladies' Competitions On Wednesday last two rinks •from the Levin Ladies' Bowling Club paid a return visit to the Seatouu Ladies' Club. The following are the results: Mesdames Seddon, Lett, Henderson, Hartstonge (s) 30, beat Mesdames Freeman, ,0!I+eary, Perkins, . Biddle (s) 1-3; Mesdafnes Williams, Bagrie, C. Walker, Stevens (s) 13 lost to Mesdames Marshall, Sherwood, Young, Murphy (s) 30. Each club scored 43 points. At the. conclusion of the games, the president of the Levin Club, Mrs. Hartstonge, thanked the members of the Seatoun Club for their hospitality. On Friday advice was received that- the rink comprising Mesdames Fors.ter, Gibson, Lacey and Mudgway had won all four games at the Greymouth tournament, and had therefore qualified for post-fcection play. The Lett Brooches pairs competition on Thursday was won by Mesdames McKinstry and Stevens. The winners of the previous week were Mesdames Shell and Stevens. Arrangements are being made for the return visit by the club to Kilbirnie on March 25. CentraPs Championships The Levin Central Ciab nas now completed its championships for the 1946-47 season and the following were the successful players: — • A grade. — Singles: K. A. Bowater; runner-up, E. Hayes. Pairs: W. J. Blake - and -K. A. Bowater (s) ; runners-up, H. Poad and R. "T. Martin. Rinks: H. Poad, S. Sma'll, W. G. Clark and E. Hayes (s) ; runners-up, W. J. Blake, G. Sweetman, R. T. Martin and K. A. Bowater (s). • B grade. — Singfes : S. G. Taylor; runner-up, C. Walker. Pairs: A. Corson and E. F. Lacey (s); runners-hp, W, Dalzell and C. E. Cooksley (s).
