LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
"CITIZEN."
CONDITION OF FOOTPATH Sir, — Last year two letters were written to your paper before the footpath in Queenwood Road received attention, and it appears as if history is going to repeat itself. The ragwort which went to seed last year before it was removed has producejl a wonderful cro'p of plants, which adorn each side of the footpath to say nothing of the clumps of rank grass. On a dark night one stumbles over these weeds and wonders if one is in some little back-block town, not surely progressive Levin. Do the members , of the streets committee ever take a walk (I mean walk) round the streets. Just before Christmas the men were clearing the paths in Winchester Street ^and we hoped our road would come next, but it is now March and nothing done: Miss Bowen is to be commended for her remarks at the last meeting about the state of the cemetery, another eyesore in the little town we are so proud of. Hoping something will be done sooh. Yours etc.,
March 10.
