WERAROA'S FIVE-POINT WlN A further series of games in the wcond round of the Horowhenua Crickef Association's- Hall Shield competition was played on Saturlay in good cricketing weather. Beveral teams played short of men lue to the match between Horovhenua and Rangitikei. Weraroa scored a five point win wer College B in their match in Levin, college opened the batting ind were dismissed for 54 runs, Gardiner (12). and Thorpe (10) >eing the only double-figure scorers. Bowling for Weraroa, Wab ace took four for seven ahd Prarrce three for five. Weraroa replied with 177 runs, Kingsbeer (53) and Hudson (retired 25) were •he principal run-getters. Frederckson captured four wickets for .25 runs and Muflford tWo for none. College A lost their match to Paraparaumu played at Levin by 19 rUns on the first innin** ' Paraparaumu had first use of the ivicket and notched 171 runs Paterson (*?9) and O. B. Reeve .(37) yere the main contributors. Hudion took four wickets for 16 runs md MacFarlane three for 67 Dollege's innings yielded 82 .runs Dumbell making 21 and MacFarlane 17. Paterson took six wickets :or 28 runs.
