LEVIN MEMBERS COMPETE AT FEILDING The Manawatu'Swimmire- nenti" championships were decided ats Feilding municipai oatns on Sauurday night. All events drew large entries from the various clubs in the centre, necessitating a number of heats. The most exciting race of the evening was the men's 100 yards freestyle, • the- final of which produced a stirring exhibiuon of speed. It was won by T. Dewe (Feilding) , who accepted the strong challenge of R. Denton (Levin), to claim a thrilling win in the fast time of 66 3.-5 sees. Miss J, McClune (Levin> was second to. Miss J. Bur.gess (Palmerston North) in the junior girls' 50 yards backstroke. In the supplementary handicap events R. Routley (Levin), won the junior boys.' 33 1-3 yards in. which there were seven heats and a semifinal, while R. Denton and Miss C. Turner* (Levin) secured first place in their heat and the final of the dual relay. Miss J. Todd (Levin) was second in a heat of the junior girls' 33 1-3 yards ' and Miss J. Phillips (Levin) gained third in a heat of the intermediate handicap, but both were eliminated in the finals.
