For the first time in Commonwealth history, two senior officers of the Taxation Department went to Turkey and Egvpt last year to investigate the business affairs of a suspected tax defaulter. The man was Yves Nahama, a Greek national. As the result the man, who had been in Australia since 1940, paid £33,291 in overdue taxes and penalties and had to leave the Commonwealth.
