MARCH MEETING Committee members present at the March meeting of the Shannon sub-bfanch of the Plunket Society, held on 'Monday afternoon, were • Mesdames L. W. Wilson (presideiTt, , J. Creagh (secretary) , E. Barber, F. Edmonds, C. Tremewan and C. Wishart. . Arrangements were made for the children's fancy dress party to be held on Satiirday, March 15. Admission charg'es were fixed at 9d for childr.en and 2s for adults. The children's party will continue until 9 o'clock, after which the adults will have the floor. The names of the winning babies in the baby photographic competition will be announced at 8 p.m. It was decided to approach the Mayor requesting him to be present to make the announcement and present the prizes.. Nominations for officers for the coming year were received. The date for the annual meeting was fixed for, Monday, April 14. The secretary was instructed to invite the committee ladies of the Levin branch to be present, the president to be asked to preside. The street day which was to,have been held this month was postponed until a later date owing to '-he fact that there has been ah appeal for Karitane. On Thursday afternoon the committee held a further card afternoon from which'-the net proceeds were £2 2s. This money will be equally divided to buy votes for ail the entrants in the beautiful baby photograph contest. The prizes which were donated ^v Mesdames • Wishart and Tremewan. were won by Mesdames W. Racford and A. Richards.
