PRETTY BRIDE IN OFF-WHITE

A pretty wedding took place in St. Peter's Anglican Church. Palmerston N., on the _evening of February 8, when Pliyllis Margaret ("Billie") , daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Gunning, of Shannon, was married ' to Herbert Maurice ("Nook"), son of Mr. and the late Mrs. G. Gordon, of Otaki. Canon Ramson offlciatcd at the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming as she walked down the aisle in a beautiful gown of off-white, the tight-fitting, long-waisted bodice being of fine lace, with heartshaped neck, long sleeves finisliing in a peak over the wrist, and buttoned to the waist. The skirt was made of silk eeorgette, gathered fully to the bodice and finished in i long train, decorated round the hem with ruched georgette, and a large true lover's knot in the centre of the train. The bride wore cyrstal beads and carried a sheaf of St. Joseph lilies, cream gladioli, gypsophila and maidenhair fern. Her veil, lent by a friend, was of ine off-white silk tulle very long and beautifully embroidered. and was pleated at the top to show the coronet of orange blossom. The bridesmaids, Misses Shirley and Pamela Gunninp- of Shannon, sisters of the bride, were frocked alike in deep primrose organdie, low waisted and finishing in scallops, witl^ short puffed sleeves, and featuring scalloned ends, heartoed neeks and full skirts decorated with small bunches of violets. Small hats of fluted organdie. tulle and a top knot of violets were worn, and they carried bouquets of deep rnauve gladioli, stock and maidenhair fern. Mr. Fred Gordon, of Wellington, u-other of the bridegroom, carried out the duties of best man. while Mr. Mick Gordon, another brother, was groomsman. The ushers Were Messrs. Sebelin, of Palmerston North, and.Blair, of Petone. The bride's mother, dressed in a -smart navy costume, with hat to 'one and navy accessories, and a ILrsage of gladioli, assisted by Mrs. ■higham, sister of the bridewho was dressed in an ^^H^oown of red velvet, relieved corsage of gladioli, guests at the recepMrs. Gordon chose ^^^^^^^^Hkvoollen navy ^^^^^^^^^Asories, navy white couple are making Otaki.
