WOMEN'S INSTITUTES
LEVIN'S ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Levin Women's Institute held on Wednesday evening last, was preceded by a short monthly meeting devoted to business. Attention was drawn to dressmaking classes available to members. The president, Mrs. Kellaway, reminded members that afternoon meetings would be resumed next month. There was a keen discussion as to the advisability of holding evening meetings during the summer months. and the final decision will be made at the next meeting. In order to make up a parcel to send to the Enelish link institute, members are asked to bring toilet br household soap to the April meeting. One new member was proposed. Mrs. F. Gardiner, a member of the federation executive, prcsided over the annual meeting. There was no election and the officers for he ensuing year are: — President: Mrs. Kellaway; secretary: Mrs. Kehoe; treasurer: Mrs. Fenn; committee: Mesdamesv Dalton, McLeavey, Mearing, Maugham, Moriarty, Nichol, Smith, Taylor, Trotman and Witherow. Mrs. Gardiner congratulated the institute on the report of the year's rcrk, making special mention of the Christmas party for the boys at Kimberley Road Farm, and spoke briefly on different aspects of 'nstitute work. The president in her remarks asked for an increased interest in Lhe various monthly competitions. Votes of thanks were accorded the audjtor, Mr. Witherow, Mr. Sharp for making the birthday cake. (rs. Sp.encer and other iudsres wb had assisted throughout the year. Mrs. Perigo gave two ex'cellent -hort rpcitations.
