Mr. Howard Harvey, Senr., of Cambridge Street Levin, is at present holidaying in Rotorua, after having attended the funeral directorsl conference in Auckland. Mr. J. M. Adamson, previously on the staff of the Bank of New South Wales, Armidale, N.S.W., Australia, has joined the staff of the Levin, branch of the bank on transfer. Dr. Charles Greenslade, of Dunedin, was nominated District Governor of the 53rd District of Rotary International at the district conference in Christchurch yesterday. Mesdames SG. Gibson, L. M. Forster, P. W. Lacey and H. W. Mudgway left for Greymouth today to take part to the bowling tournament. The tOurnament will last 10 days. Messrs. A. Yorston,' H. R. Pickerng and J. Douglas were delegates from the Horowhenua Pipe Band to she N.Z. Highland Pipe Bands' Association's conference in Wanganui last night. Over 100 delegates, representing bands from Otago to as far north as Dargaville, were present. The pipe band contest beean at Wanganui today, there being 24 contestants. The Horowhenua Pipe Band will .not take part, but will be playing at Pahiatua on Saturday for the Pahiatua marching championships.
