Liglil snow (lriven by the wind became a niinor blizzard m London where the evening temperature dropped to 30 de grees. Big traffic hold-ups occurred with vehicles slithering hopelessly on the ice glazed roads. Hundreds of ears in London were abandoned at the roadsides. Traffic was also dislocated in other parts of Britain, particularly VVales where the snow blocked roads. Snow has spreqfl to the Midlands, A violent easterly gale raged at Dover. Bunspot activity and an aurora borealis interx:upted overseas tele-com-munications.
