BRIDE IN TRADITIONAL WHITE
LYNCH— CLARKE WEDDING A very pretty weddfng- was solemnised at St: Brigid's Church, Feilding, in the late afternoon of Saturday, February . 8, by Rev. Father Cashman, when Joan Margaret, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Clarke was married to Vinceht, elder son 6f Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Lynch, of Levin.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father. made a charming picture in her trained gown of white embroidered marquisette, made with a square neckline, and ruched fit-ting bodice ending in a frilled peplum. The beautiful embroidered tulle veil, which was worn with a tatted halo, fell to form a second train. Her only ornament was a diamond drop pendant, the gift of the bridegroom. A shower bouquet of white nerines, carnations and maidenhair fern providing the finishing touch.
The bride was maided by her sisters, Joyce and Shirley, wholooked most attractive- in replicas of the bride's gown in water-lily green embroidered marquisette. They carried bouquets of pastel tinted fiowers in cyclamen shades, and wore , pretty head dresses of ruffled marquisette. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Brian Cliff ord as bestman and his brother, Mr.. Raymond Lynch, as groomsman. On leaving the church the bride" was presented with two good-luck horse shoes. During the signing of ,the register Miss Maureen O'Donnell sang "Panis Angelicus," accompanied by Mrs. Clifford, who also played the Weddhig March. Mr. and Mrs. Clarke, the popular host and hostess of the Denbigh Hotel, assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Lynch, received some 200 guests at the wedding reception, where the beautiful fioral decorations of gladioli, pink hydrangeas and gypsophila had been arranged by the bride's mother. Mrs. Clarke wore a black model frock, with smart black hat and spray of pink ca.rnations. Mrs. Lynch chose a navy and white model suit, with hat to match, and wore a spray of roses. A unique feature was that three grandmothers of the bridal pair were able to attend. . The reception was a very jolly and informal function, and afterwards the young people indulged in dahcihg until a late hour. When the bridal cquple left on their honeymoon, the bride was wearing a beige three -piece tailored suit, a small hat with felt fiowers and veiling, and also brown accessories. Telegrams were received from all parts of New Zealand. Hosts of friends travelled from Gisborne and Wellington for this happy event.
