CONSTABLE'S CAR CONVERTED

Four juveniles made their escape from the Weraroa Eoys' Training Centre on Saturday night and at about 3 a.m. they had made their way to Shannon, where they removed the car owned by Constable Puddle, who is relieving in Shannon, from the garage at the police station. They pushed the car about 200 yards down the road before making an unsubcessful attempt to start it. Some damage was inflicted to the radiator of the vehicle. The boys were later apprehended at Tokomaru.
