STATE HOUSE CONGESTION
OBJECTION FROM R.S.A. When the matter of the congested arrangement of the State house units at present under construction at the cofner of Ballance and Margaret Streets was brought before the members *of the Shannon branch of the Returned Services' Association at their general meeting on Saturday evening, several members expressed disapproval that four houses should be built on such a small section in a country area like Shannon. It was pointed out that there were plenty of building sites in Shannon where houses could be constructed to give the tenants ample space for gardening purposes. When a question was asked whether the mdtter concerned the R.S.A., it was stated that the Minister of Housing had once stated that he wlshed it to be brought before his notice anyl instances where houses were being congested in country areas. It was decided that the secretary should ascertain from the local authority the area of the section concerned, and then write to the Minister of Housing pointing out the congested state of the houses.
