CROQUET CLUB'S ACTIVITIES

A pleasant gala afternoon was spent on the Levin Croquet Club's lawns recently. Many friends and visitors were present and the wellfilled stalls attracted considerable attention. Competitions were keenly contested, the winners being as follows: Roquet tovthe peg, Mrs. Dalzell; ladder, Mrs. Wepham; golf, Mrs. Boulton; chocolates, Miss N. Murray. About 80 guests were served With a dainty afternoon tea. The afternoon showed a net return to the club of £23 2s 6d. Matches played during the week were the Brown Buttons in which Mesdames Mudgway and Holdaway beat. Mesdames Gilmour and Boulton 26 — 24. and Mesdames Mudgway and Holdaway beat Mesdames Mason and Telford 26 — 12. In a Walker Cup game Mrs. Boulton beat Mrs. McLean 26 — 10.
