WANGANELLA INQUIRY

WELLINGTON, Friday. ; Finding that Captain R. Darroch, master of the Wangajiella, had alone been blameworthy in such particulars as to eause the ship's stranding on Barrett's Reef on the night of January 19, the Court of Inquiry into the mishap today announced that his master's certifl-4 cate would he suspended for three months. In presenting its finding and adding comments on the circumstances, Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M., chairman, expressed the regret with which the court had "been forced to its conclusions, especially in view of Captain Darroch's enviable record, both in peace and. in war, as a seafarer for more than half . a century. Any, appiications for costs against Captain Darroch wene specifically declined by counsel for the other parties.
