The Maritime Commission announced that the liner Geor'ge, Washington (23,788 tons) will be placed in the permanent reserVe "fie'et at Baltimore — idle but ready for service acain in an emergency. The 38-year-old ship, which transported Allied fighting men in two world wars, was offered for sale in January. but no bids were received.
