TRENTHAM, Feb. 24. J Two double range possibles which is considered to be a reeord for Trentham, were a feature of the shooting ,in the championship series for the Ballinger j belt this morning. Gonditions were good though the wind waa sufficiently variable enotigh to cause marksmen to be always on the alert for suddeu clianges. Wlien the result, which caused a sensation ainong competitors, was an nounced, Major N. Maselield (Blenheim), four timea belt winner and a rifleman of long experience, aaid he could recall no such aehievement. . The previous record ia believed to be h.eld by Captain W. S. King (Linwood Rifles), belt winner in 1S99, and three times New Zealand representative a1 Bisley, who returned a double range possible in a three range ahoot. Competitors returning double range posaiblea in the Canterbury match (10 rouuds at 300 and 500 yards ) were H. King (Opaki) and M. Hauamann (Aah hurst). Other leading acores were: — S. L.
