KORDA SIGNS FOUR TOP STARS
Independent Efiglish producer, Sir Alexander Korda, has.signed up James Mason, ' Rex' Harrison, French star Dahielle Darrieux and Margaret Leighton! Mason . will make two films for Korda, taking his pick of Hollywood, Londoh or Paris. , Rex Harrison -is returnirig to England from Hollywood to make a new version of "The Scarlet .Pimpernel." Korda, lafct prodficed this film story in 193.7, with -the late LeSlie Howard aird ; ; Merle Oberon. Photogrdpher-artist-designer ■ Cecil Beaton, whose costumes for "Lady Windermere's -Fan" ar.e . currently dazzling New York theatregoers, will design the wardrobe for this new Pimpernel, as well as for Korda's "Salome," and, possibly,. a movie from that Wilde comedy, "An Ideal Husband." The name of Margaret Leighton will convey nothing to you. .But London is now applauding Margaret's work in the old Vic company — she has been Regan in "King Lear," and Roxane in • Cyrano de Bergerac."
