MAN AND GOODS TIPPED INTO SEA
AUCKLAND. Feb. 20. The collajise of about 18 feet of decking of tlie 'long wliarf at Gurfdale, Waihoke, this morning, threw a store laden trollev and man riding 011 it into the water about 20 feet below. Bread, milk, lnilter, tea and other stores for tlie residents of tlie locality were lost but the hui 11 was not injured. Pussengers and cargo arriving later in the day were landed at the next bav, Ostend, and carried to their destina tion by mad. The accident: occurred after ihe arrival at Surfdale from Auckland of the steamer Onewa. The passengers ' luggage and mails had gone along the 500-yani lotig wliarf' and the stor-e laden troltey was approaching the -cargoi shfid- near the land end when the collapSe occurred.
