KOPUTAROA'S MEETING

Presided over by Mrs. Koberstein, the Koputaroa * Women's Institute held its monthly meeting recently." Members were thanked for helping to display articles for the recent Horowhenua show, and Mrs. Netten was congratulated for winning flrst prize with her preserves. A donation of £3 ,5s was received from a local organisation as a contribution to the parcel fund. For the monthly competition Mrs. Chapman's tea cosy secured the first prize and in the junior section Joyce McLaughlin's egg cosy won her first prize, with Audrey Storey seeond. The senior floral brooch was awarded to Mrs. Lancaster the shrub brooch to Mrs. Netten. Audrey Storey won the junior brooch. A letter from a local war bride, now resident in America, was read to the meeting.
