The report emphasises tliat the chief potential danger in Asia is tliat anti-democratic and militaristic groups might try to seize the growing indnstrial faeilities and use them to entreneh themselves in power. The survev, in an analvsis of Far East devastation, says Siam has a better future than most other countries, but in Papua and New Guinea the plc. ture is one of complete devastation. Every town and every settlement has been destroycd and every public rieces sity wiped out, including small ships vital for commerce and communication. The report estimates the losses of the Malavan rubber plantation faeilities a: 93,000,000 dollars. ^
