Ann Sheridan and Ronald Reagan, who scored their greatest' ; screen success together in "Kings Row," will be reunited in "The Last Fling," romantic domestic comedy just purchased for them by Jack L. Warner. Miss Sheridan recently completed the title role in "Nora Frentiss." Joel McCrea has discovered the secret of happy living. He limits his pictures to two or tfiree a year and the rest of the time lives with his wife and two sons on his ranch at Moorpark. He does not have to make pictures if he does not want to because hd is earning plenty from his ranch. Affcer a retirement fr'om the screen for four years Irene Rich made a successful comeback in "Angel and the Outlaw" for Republic. It was her intention to maks one picture, but the lure of the grease paint and Kleig lights has compelled Irene to sign for another two. In private life she is Mrs. Hereford. Glenn Ford, selected as "man of ;he year" by the American BobbySoxers, has inaugurated an annual award at Santa Monica High School to be known as the Glenn Ford plaque, to' be presented each year to the school's top drama student. Ford addressed 2500' students at a school assembly then held an informal discussion with drama classes. He is a graduate of the school. Dennis O'Keefe and Marguerite Chapman have been selected for the starring roles in Columbia's "Mr. District Attorney," a film based cn the popular air show of the same name. O'Keefe, who is a free lance player; recently completed a leading role opposite Hedy Lamarr in "Dishonoured Lady;" Marguerite Chapman's most recen" film is "The Walls Came Tumbling Down." Ealing Studios have beatep, American film companies to the screen rights of the Australian classic, "Robbery Under Arms," said British director Harry Watt in Sydney eaiiier in the week. "Robbery Under Aarms" gocs on Ealing's programme of making one. film a year in Australia. The story, an outdoor action story, is of inter-. national appeal, The book having. sold half a million times round the world. Jeanette MacDonald is making a comeback at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studio in "The Birds and the Bees" after an absence from the screen for five years. She has signed up a long-term contract. Her next film ~will be titled "Rcunion in Vienna," with her old inging co-star, Nelson Eddy. In the earlier version of the Vienna picture John Barry.more did not get the girl, but the- public expects Eddy to get Jeanette. Therefore, the story will be changed to suit public taste. ■
