GISBORNE, Feb. 12. "Let me suy uuequivoeably that there is no intentiou on the part of the present Government — nor has there been eilher a desire or intentiou — to enler into the lieltl of retail distribution, ' ' llon. D. G. Sullivan, Minister of ludustries, told tlie Dominion Grocers ' Federation eonferenee today. The Government, he said, had never ha«l Ihe slightest intentiou of taking over and soeialising groeery busines«es. Referring to the eooperative enterprise in Ilutt Valley, Mr. Sullivan said tlie Government, beeause of the over whelming desire of consumers, deeided that the eooperative society should be ihe onlv tenant of Government rental shops in Ihe Ilutt Valley State housing areas. There was no restriction on private iiulividuals or eompanies eoiiiiiieiiciiig business or earrying 011 existing businesses 011 privately owned land adjaeent State housing areas and there was no intentiou of restricting private businesses from servieing state tenants
